This Young?

I found this on Jackson's light switch this morning:

I know I have to leave notes to remind myself to do things, but are 10 year olds really losing their minds already, too?

***On a side note, my son will be a very spoiled boy come March. He is getting an exclusive (meaning he's the only grandchild invited) ski trip to Utah to ski with Grandpa Critt for 2 days. 10 days later, he and Delaney are headed south and jet setting off with Grandma and Grandpa Clark on a Disney cruise.

I believe those are the occasions he's referencing on the Post-it note.

My Bun

Just an Addie funny I want to record before I forget...

Addie calls her derriere "my bun". It cracks me up and I find myself trying to get her to say it just because it strikes me as so funny.

A few months ago, once the weather turned cold and tights season began, I was putting a pair of tights on her for church.

Addie, "Whoa, Mom. Big socks!"

Then as I continue to pull them all the way up, she says, "Whoa, Mom. Big socks on my bun!"

Thomas

One thing I'd really hoped to have accomplished in our home in 2010 was getting Addison potty trained. We started diapers in the Clark household in 2000 and it would have been nice to round off the decade being diaper free.

But, alas, 2011 has crept up on us and Addison has had ZERO interest in going on the potty. So, in order to encourage her along, I've been telling her we'd go to the store and pick out big girl underwear.

Last night we went to the store and as we walked up to the underwear section, I immediately knew we had a problem. The boys and girls underwear was hanging side by side.

Addison is the polar opposite of Delaney in almost every way. At 2, Delaney loved anything pink. At 2, Addison loves anything blue. Delaney loved princesses, dolls and dress up. Addie loves trains, Mickey and Cars (the movie). So, as we approach the underwear, it occurred to me...she is going to pick boy underwear!

Sure enough...

So, we are now the proud owners of boy underwear for our little girl. Who am I to burst her bubble? I do wonder how the preschool teachers will talk when it's potty time at school...

The loot

Christmas came and went and it's official...we have some seriously spoiled kiddos. Because we left for Utah on Christmas Eve, the kids opened all the presents under the tree on the 23rd.

As I mentioned earlier, we'd requested Santa to come a day early, and he sure enough, he did! Here's the scene before the kids came down. I have no idea why Addie was so grumpy, but then again, often times I'm not sure she even knows why she's grumpy.

Here's all the loot! For the record, Jackson asked for Band Hero, "Kirby Epic Yarn" for Wii, and a Target gift card. Delaney asked for a soccer ball, "Just Dance 2" for Wii, and a Nintendo DSi. Addie asked for a choo choo train and a baby. Santa didn't disappoint. They each got what they asked for.

In this picture you can see a note on the mantel. It was from Santa letting us know he'd taken our stockings and we would find them in Utah and Grandma and Grandpa's house!

I don't have very many or very good pictures of Christmas morning at Grandma and Grandpa Critt's house, but you get the idea...I love their view - it feels like Christmas in the sky (that's Temple Square just over Jackson's shoulder)!

Who knew Play-doh was this exciting???
