Delilah

I know I am certainly not alone in my love of holiday music. Every year I am itching for the day after Thanksgiving so I can listen to Christmas music without protests from Jeff.

Being a mom of young children, most of my holiday preparations and shopping take place at night, between the hours of 8 and 10 pm as I race from store to store, trying to get as much done without children as possible.

Though most of the day I listen to the XM holiday stations, at night I listen to our local Chicago light station, FM 93.9. Why? It's Delilah. I know Delilah isn't on just in Chicago. I think her program is syndicated all around the country. Her program starts at night at 8 pm and I'm hooked. The oddest callers call in with the strangest holiday "heartfelt" lovesick stories. And Delilah continues to give her cheesy love advice with her silky, smooth radio voice. And somehow, it's become a tradition for me. This cheesy radio program has become a must-listen, nightly event that makes all the running around in the freezing cold, a little more tolerable.

And, for anyone who knows what I'm talking about, the little jingle on her radio show announcing her program cracks me up...De Li Laaaaahhhh....

Anyone else? Or am I the sole holiday Delilah fan? If you'd like, click here to hear what I'm talking about. Click on the "Dilemma: One Sided Love Affair" link.

Delilah reminds me so much of living with Kerry :) She'd have an empty tape ready to hit record if some song came on that she liked. Ah memories...

I'll confess I listen to Delilah

I listened to Delilah for years when we lived in CT and then after we had been here in Salt Lake for six months she was dropped from the regular station. I'll have to find her on XM. Delilah kept me company till midnight many nights when dad was traveling. So funny that you like it. I would have never thought...

I LOVE Delilah! Her voice is so soothing and I love the jingle. The other good one here is "Love songs on the coast" which has a catchy jingle as well.

oh Delilah. I feel like I have to love her. Her show is cheesy, but I just can't pull myself away.

hhhaaahahaaa!!I No, Kel, you are not alone! :)I used to listen to her as a child/teenager/young adult --on Lite 98 in Virginia. Your description of the show is spot on and cracked me up. I often think about how she (who tells people what they want to hear, regardless if their behavior is immoral or not) and Dr. Laura (who tells people what they don't want to hear) would get along. I think it would be rather entertaining! :)

Alas, I have yet to find her here....
