Hello Bloggers!

Well, I've joined the club. Everyone asks if we have a blog, so why not join the "cool kids" and start one? I have to admit I'm a blog stalker, so I might as well allow myself to be blog stalked in return.

I do have to preface that I'm not very techno savvy...this is something I blame Jeff for. He does everything techinical for me, so therefore I have no motivation to learn anything. So, it might take me a while to make my blog look all cute and fancy, but I will get there, folks. Don't you worry.

Okay, so something funny happened today, and I immediately thought my mom and sister would get a kick out of it. "If only I had a blog", I thought, "I'd be able to show them this." So, here's a funny story, just for Steph and Cath.

Delaney loves to make crafts at preschool. LOVES to. Jackson never made crafts in preschool, so I assume this is a girl thing. I, however, hate the papers upon papers that accumulate because of all these crafts. I have recieved about 30 portraits of myself that Delaney colors on a regular basis. Well, hand over the mother-of-the-year award right now, because I'll admit 99.9% of them go into the garbage and she never notices, so I think it's a win-win. She loves making them, and I love my counters clear, so everyone wins. However, today she produced a "save worthy" picture. You'll even notice in the picture that it is indeed on the fridge.

This is not a picture of me, it is actually a picture of her brother. She walks out of preschool, hands over the picture, and says, "It's a picture of my brother. Doing the robot dance." I couldn't help but laugh. Jackson does indeed think the coolest dance move is the robot. And, I'm so proud to see that her figures now have elbows. Their arms still come out of their heads, but at least we now have elbows!

Once we got home, I told her how cute I thought her picture was, so I was going to put it up on the fridge. She then asks,

"Mommy, where is the secret hiding place you put all my other pictures I make."

Playing dumb I reply, "What are you talking about?"

"All my other pictures. I can never find them, but they are beautiful."

To which I reply, "If I told you, it wouldn't be a secret then, right?

Maybe it's not as win-win as I thought it was...

A blog, A blog!!! Yippee!! And I'm the first to comment. :)

Don't worry, I threw away most of my kids too...I mean, I put them in the special hiding place. ;) I saved certain ones, and now I'm so glad I did.

Welcome to the blogging world.

Yay! I'm your first comment. Delaney seriously cracks me up. But you know that the "secret" hiding place thing isn't going to work forever, right?

Yeah! You kind commenters. How much of a loser would I look like if no one commented.

Steph, I think it was a tie. You both published at 8:27 pm.

Oh no, just another thing to worry about. Whether I'm popular enough to have people comment on my blog...

So glad to see you are joining the blogging land. I love it!
I love the picture Delaney drew too... I kept way too much of my girls art, and finally decided that I'd keep a very small number and then take pictures of the ones that were just too big or weird to keep and "recycle" the others.

Welcome to the madness!
I have to admit I have kind of crossed over to the Facebook darkness, but do wander back here from time to time. I am not very cutsie with mine, and I'm bad at keeping up to date (as you'll see) but I do have a blospot: bodellfamily.blogspot.com
I love the story about Delaney, and good luck with that "hiding place" thing. Too funny!

I am so happy. Now I get to keep up with everybody - except Carolyn and AD and I've never been invited to Taylor's blog! You all make me so happy - welcome to the blogging world Clarks!

Hah! I updated my blog today!!! I love to hear about all the little cousins! I have special hiding places all over the world....and they don't even ask about them anymore!

See, it's nice to have people comment on your blog, isn't it? Makes you want to be less of a stalker now, huh?

11 comments on your first post already?? You are so oiled-spay!

I loved the Delaney story but I'm still in shock that she talks! It's been waaaay too long, my friend. I'm so glad you're a blogger now. This has made my day!

Welcome to the blogging world! My secret place for all of Abby's pictures is also in the trash. Sad but a part of being a mom.

Yay! I'm so happy you started this! Carter is the artist in our family and most of his work makes it into the "special file" (aka trash) around here too. I have started to scan some stuff and just save it on the computer. That seems to appease him most the time! Can't wait for more updates. We need to see your Addison!

wow, 18 comments already and youve had your blog one day! I've never had that kind of a turnout! I'm way excited to blog stalk you, that way we can avoid vocal communication. (please know that is a joke, i love to talk to you!)

Wow - I feel like a true miracle has happened! And I think I'm commenting on the first day (or close to it) and I'm going to be #20!!!

I'm putting a link to your blog on mine - do you care?

Can't wait to stalk you!!!

WEW!!! You're like the new TAMN, Kelli! So popular. You should sponsor a little give-away to see if you can break the 10,000 comments mark. :-)

Fun for you to join the bloggin' world. That was a cute picture Delaney drew. So when did Jackson show any interest in drawing? I mean, I know her arms come out of the head still, but I don't think Cade has EVER drawn a stick figure. Seriously. He came home with one from primary a week or two ago, but I swear it must have been Delaney's because I've never seen him do anything more than scribbles with a crayon!!!

p.s. love the cute background! You figured it out fast!

You know...it's just wrong that on your first blog, in 2 days, you have 22 comments. And your mother is right...you now have to comment, and not just stalk! However...there is kind of a fun side to stalking! I wish we could come up next week for fall break...but I am still on my machine..dang it.

Carolyn said...

I just re-read Calene's first comment..."I threw away most of my kids too..." so...how many got thrown away cal...i only know the four I see when I come! (teehee)

Cathy said...

Wow Kell - 24 comments in 2 days. And the background is darling. You're going to be one of those people that changes their background with the seasons, so everybody will feel like they have to keep up with you. You funny girl! When you finally do something, you do it big - you've been well trained.

Very impressive!! So glad to be able to keep up with the Clarks now. Glad the gingerbread house turned out so cute and want to know when you're going to make table runners for sale? I will buy one since there's no way on this planet I could ever make one. You're so talented!! -- Whit

I'm glad that you started a blog so that I can stay in better touch with you. I am not brave enough yet to start a blog. It's the commitment that I think would stress me out with how busy life already is. Anyway, what a funny story about Delaney! I tell Abraham and Anna that if they don't want me to throw something away, they have to find a place were I can't see it. That usally ends up being under their beds. So I end up clearing out under their beds every few weeks and they don't ever seem to care.
